Here is one of my favorite quotes from Albert Einstein: “A problem cannot be solved at the level of consciousness in which it occurs.”
I often take a problem I’m currently facing and challenge myself to approach it from a completely new angle. To create fresh solutions, we have to think differently—and more importantly, see differently. Shifting perspective is essential for generating new possibilities.
One of the great benefits of working on a team is the ability to ask others how they see a situation. By seeking another person’s point of view, we gain a new lens through which to understand the issue, often revealing solutions we couldn’t see on our own.
Changing your environment can shift your perspective as well. Many of us have experienced moments of sitting at our desks, cycling through the same unproductive ideas. Yet stepping outside for a brief walk can clear mental clutter and open the door to more creative thinking. It’s as if the cobwebs lift, and the problem becomes easier to see—and solve.
Try experimenting with different approaches when you feel stuck. Allowing outside influences or fresh perspectives to shape how you view a challenge may be exactly what leads you to the right solution.
